Code of Conduct
GOVERNMENT LAWNGTLAI COLLEGE CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
Government Lawngtlai College seeks to maintain a healthy and equitable academic environment for its diverse student community, and advocates inclusivity and harmony. To up hold such values, it enforces a code of conduct that must be adhered to by all students enrolled in the college.
1. Students
must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance out of total number of classes each semester
to be eligible for university examinations. Students must appear for all the Continuous
Assessment Tests and Assignments/Presentations conducted by the college. Mass
bunking of classes is also strictly prohibited.
2. Students
must attend classes in appropriate clothing and conduct themselves responsibly within
the campus. Students must exhibit respectful behaviour towards their peers and
college faculty.
3. Students
must participate wholeheartedly in all extra-curricular activities organized by
the college with a spirit of fraternity.
4. Students
are strictly advised against spreading misinformation and disparaging remarks about
the college on social media.
5. Any form of
ragging, bullying and harassment, whether physical, verbal or mental, towards a
fellow student is strictly prohibited. Students must not practice discrimination
on the grounds of colour, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender and economic
background.
6. Smoking,
drinking alcohol and use of any other intoxicant is strictly prohibited within
the college campus.
7. Since the
college has been declared a single use plastic free campus, students must avoid
using single use plastics within the campus. All wastes must also be disposed
responsibly in designated trash bins.
8.
Destruction and misuse of college property is strictly prohibited.
9. Students bringing
vehicles to college must conform to pollution and noise standards mandated by
the government and display appropriate driving and parking etiquette.
If any student is found not complying to the code of conduct, the College Discipline Committee will impose appropriate penalties on the offender.
